Im currently 23 years old, im 5"10 and weigh 165 pounds, male BTW. Ive never really been overweight, just little out of shape, but about 6 months ago I changed all that. I started eating healthy and working out. Im in great shape now, eat very healthy, count calories, weight lift every other day, cardio 3 times a week. Anyway, when I started this lifestyle, I lost about 20 pounds, like fast. So fast, in fact, I got quite a few stretch marks. I have them on my butt, hips, front of my thieghs, upper arms, biceps, and the front and back of my shoulders. They have faded to skin color now, but are still visible, and have a different texture from the rest of my skin. I worked hard to get where I am now, but I've never been so depressed. Im a good looking guy (from what ive been told from people) and I dont disagree, but I just feel like they would change their minds if they saw me with my shirt off. Are these scars a big turn off to women?

Hmm, I thought stretch marks only came from the skin, well, stretching. But I don't know much about them, lol.

If a girl likes you, she won't care about the marks. But if it bothers you that much, you could try talking to a doctor about them. A dermatologist might be able to help you. Other than that, the only person that could help, I think, is a plastic surgeon. Taking off extra skin is becoming a more common surgery.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the outside should be only a window to their soul and their heart,, to me if that isn't good then all bets are off and i look not further,, not even a tiny bit further i go the opostie way, i found someone who is not only a ten inside,, but a million inside and to me on the outside as well. if she had stretch marks all over the place it wouldn't change how i feel.

what is ugly are shallow people who do anything and everything to try and look perfect on the outside while their inside is as rotten as shit.

so not it dosen't matter, it's good to look good and to be healthy,, allot of woman get stretch marks after having babies, they form from the expanding and shrinking of the skin and body size.

men usually get them on the shoulders and arms,, and sometimes belly leggs crotch excetra.

I wouldn't worry about it...they only look bad when they're really dark and you said yours had faded. At the gym where I work out, there are some guys with stretch marks on their arms and such. Did I notice them? Sure. Did they bother me? Nope.

My husband is a very thin gangly man who used to be rather heavy set. He has them ALL across his back from one end to the other. They have never bothered me. I have been with other men who had them on their stomach or thighs or else where and it never bothered me because if I think they are attractive enough to get that far with me some scars arent going to change that. I actually have them too frmo having my son and my husband doesnt find me any less attracive. I suppose that wasnt your question though. If you get with a woman and she is completly revolted by some strech marks then maybe she is a little too superficial.

I dont think it should bother a woman because looks shouldnt really matter, its whats on the inside that counts the most. but if your uncomftorable with it you can always: massage cocoa butter into the stretch marks, drink plenty of water to hydrate your skin, and add foods or supplements to your diet that are high in zinc, which is good for the skin; and silica (beets, brown rice, bell peppers, soybeans, leafy green vegetables and whole grains), which helps form collagen, the supporting fibers in the skin.
