All my life, I've remained solvent to save myself for the right person one day, hopefully understanding my ideals and practices so that they can have a disease free man good man with a promising future ahead of him. But within these condescending and detestable streets of New York, where loss of virginity of young men is so ubiquitous it's ridiculous, as well as my temptations for sex rises as I see more and more beautiful women around me, is chastity really the way to go or should I throw away my ideals and practices to satisfy my temptations. This question has been haunting me all my life ever since my mother instilled the notions in me.

Anyway, I think I understand your point, nevertheless. I saved myself for love, so i know exactly where you are coming from. While my first time turned out to be special, in hindsight I feel i wasted a lot of time and missed out on a lot of experiences because i was waiting. To me it is a regret. The temptations will not go away simply because you have sex. It will only be difficult to deal with peer pressure if you are not proud of your decision to wait. The streets can be rough, but it is only the feeling in your heart that is always with you. Therein lies where you should follow and trust because in the end,you only have your own thoughts.

I respect that, honestly. I think about it every single day. I'm having mixed feeling at the moment.

Solvency has to do with having cash (as opposed to your wealth being tied up in assets) or whether a substance will dissolve in another (chemistry); i believe. (i didn't look those up so i could be off and there could be other meanings)

I am a virgin myself, but according to every person I've heard talk about the subject, including those who waited until marriage, you can't make love until you've had sex. So it seems whether you wait or not, you still have to go through more or less the same experiences. What reasons do you have for waiting? Is it only because you were taught to? I think that if you're even considering not waiting, then you're not sure you believe in what you were taught, am I right? Probably the best thing to do is to take it all in and decide what feels best for you. Sex is not something you want to regret. There will always be someone out there who doesn't agree with your choice, so who cares? Make your own choice, even if it ends up going against what you were taught.

Personally, I don't plan on waiting until marriage, but I do plan on waiting for someone who is worth it. More than likely, that person will be a boyfriend, but if the right person came along, I would consider a FWB. I'm going to do it when it feels right; not when I'm "supposed" to.

You're right. That's a pretty good way of looking at it. And you're right about everyone not being disease ridden or having any STDs. I guess I watch waaaay too much Maury to jump to such conclusions.

Hey, M&J....I think having beliefs and strong morals about sex are great, but only if you totally believe in them and feel that they are important enough to hold onto. If you are beginning to question, or doubt, your way of life than most likely something does need to change.

As much as I like the idea of being a virgin for that person,it is amazeing how sex can change a person,in ways that I diddnt think sex had anything to do with,so I tend to beleive that sexual exploration is a healthy thing and best to do safely before meeting that person as you will have a better idea of who you are.
