i kinda learned on my own. i was the youngest of three girls in my family. my middle sis said mom had the older sis tell her. noone told me.

Yea, I kinda' learnt on my own too... Plus it helped that I have 6 Brothers that we all kinda' just put it all together...LoL That 80's sex education was awful too, they showed us films and all but none of it really sunk in at that age...

i don't think much sunk into us three girls either...we all "had" to get married the first time. LOL

My parents started teaching me when I was about 3 or 4 years old. We had this nifty little cartoon that explained things surprisingly well. Then they continued adding on over the years. I was completely educated on the subject before my schools even came close to touching subject. Definitely the best way to educated kids on the topic. I've given the sex talk to friends of mine whose parents never touched the subject. It's shocking how many people don't know some of the simple stuff by the time they're 20!

I learned on my own, because my moms didn't consider giving me that lecture nor did she feel that she should have to. I learned hard way. LOL. Books rarely teach anything about the basics. Visual aids were the way to go for me. Blame it on the Discovery Channel back in 1990.

for me, learned it out in the streets with friends i grew up with as kids, back then schools never taught about sex, but everyone caught on pretty much.

by the time i learned how to walk i was chasing after girls, didn't know what to do if i caught one ,lol,, but chased them anyways and played doctor all tha stuff, lol, we were only about 7 at the time or mabe 9, my first kiss was in kindigarden so i was about 4, a girl was hiding begind a big divider thingy and the boys in class all lined up for a kiss,,

she kissed about ten boys, lol, one after the other, , i took my turn. hahahaha, that was weird, i would imagine her mom was pretty wild she was copying it from somwhere, that was the hipps days.

i was very open with my own daughters. i told them i didn't want them getting pregnant like i did. we discussed about everything. they brought their friends to me when they had questions.

I think it's extremely important to be open and honest about sex, and start young. If you start in 5th or 6th grade, which is when most schools introduce it briefly, the hormones are already racing. Not only does starting the education young ensure that your kids learn the right information, but it opens up a fantastic line of communication. Even when my parents piss me off to no end, I know I can talk to them about literally ANYTHING. If you make sex out to be some taboo thing that you never talk about, your kids are going to want to find out on their own, duh. I hate when people want to pretend like people don't have sex. It happens! It's better to educate your kids, then to have them learn on their own and get pregnant just because they didn't know what a condom was.

I honestly have no idea how I learned. I imagine I just gradually earned a little bit here and there as i got older. I don't remember ever having that sort of conversation with either of my parents. I do remember the don't do drugs conversation with my dad, but no sex one.

I just knew about sex, and I chased after boys in about Gr.3.. I had a 12 year old bf and experienced my first french kiss.. My parents never really talked to me about sex...so I am definatly going to keep the lines of coimmunication open with my daughter and definatly teach her not to be ashamed of her body and also to protect herr beauty..:)
