Hey my American friends, it has occurred to me today that 9 years ago, you bore the brunt of some angry religious extremists, who were upset over money and other such silly things.

And they attacked you in a very violent, sickening and cowardly way.

It is September 12 here so that means it is September 11 there and I would like now that I have American friends to offer you my best wishes, and to let you know that I am thinking of the loss you and your country suffered 9 years ago today.

Our fire men had their ceremony yesterday in front of the twisted beams from the towers, that have been set up as a monument and a reminder.

I will not forget what you went through, and wish your country the peace that it deserves and so badly needs, from the consequences this event has had on your country.

Seems to me that this thread should be one without mindless idle chatter and stupidity.

One of my cousins worked in one of the towers. He happened to be going to work late that day. I don't remember why. How lucky he was. His brother worked nearby. When everyone just left their stores and went outside, he met the woman who he would end up marrying. I hope that wasn't the only good that came out of that day.

Polo, Nice sentiment for you to post here, especially with the losses your counrty has just begun to endure due to the earthquake.

Yesterday, the newspapers in NY cited the fact that 9 years after the 9/11 terror attack 60% of the NYC population, which includes, brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, The Bronx, and Manhattan, still have the trauma from this, and live in fear. It's ironic, because I never gave the trauma aspect much thought other then that everytime I travel into the city, Manhattan, for business which is quite often, I think about 9/11 and how fearful it is to go there when I do. I thought it was just me over reacting these 9 years later. I can't, however, even begin to think about how those folks feel who still live in the actual city.

Yesterday, I watched hours upon hours of tributes, memorial services and live time presentations of that day, which were moving and extremely sad. How the families of the victims get through reliving the memorial services each year is beyond my comprehension. But somehow they do, and I'm glad they get the opportunity to pay tribute to all those innocent office, restaurant, maintenance workers and also the rescue folks who lost their lives in World Trade Center, Pennsyvania and in Washington DC. They will always have the scars and the pain for their (our) losses, but may they also find solace in the joining of hands with the rest of the country and those who pray with them.

May the USA elect a president like Reagan with the resolve to really go after the bastards who did this, and eliminate them down to their core. Make examples of them, so that they and no other group will ever bring an attack of this nature on any peoples in any country again.

Yea thanks for showing some respect for the purpose of this thread, real human of you.

For those who actually did treat this thread for its purpose thanks.

I would like to acknowledge DTC but hes not here.

That's an amazing story Jem, you must be so happy he was late lol.

I don't want anymore of that behavior on this thread, let it be what it is and argue some place else.

The fact is they attacked everyone living in a free society, its just that America had to wear the brunt, and that was one hell of a burden......I cant imagine how that would have felt.

I was in study hall, my freshman year, when another student came running into the room telling us to turn on the tv. I saw the 2nd plane hit, live on television. The first one was shocking enough, but to see the 2nd one live, was scary.

Ultimate.

You need to understand that this thread is not and was not created so that you could have your say on how the last government or this government or any government should have been killed on 911.

Its not here for yours or any ones protests.

I am asking you kindly to remove your posts and create another thread for you to say these things in, but not this one.

Please, please respect the nature of this thread.

And for everyone who may bethinking of arguing with him in this thread, don't.
