I am a Filipina and conducting a research about why some older men (50 something) are attracted to a Asians particularly Filipinas half their age. There's a saying: behind a young, exotic Filipina stands a 50 something husband or partner.

I will take no offense, bring it on.

I think men in general worldwide are attracted to Asians. Mainly, I think, is because of their exotic looks. But any man in his 50s or above that seek out any women in their 20s or 30s has some issues to deal with.

Because they are not only beautiful, but subservient......all men who can't get women elsewhere go shopping in Asia as an option. I think it is mainly because they lack the greedy western ways and aim to please their men....just an opinion - not 100% sure if that is truly the way it is.

I've found, from personal experience, that if two people truly love one another, age is NOT a factor.

Gee Muted, you have no practical/real world experience with love, so you obviously don't know what I'm talking about.

'Net = Internet

Other examples:
'Nother = Another
Coo' = cool
'Round = around
'Xplain ("splain") = Explain

First off pet peeve.
Second 'net, nother, coo', 'round, 'xplain are not words. Derived from real words, but written in a lazy fashion.

I agree but it takes MATURITY to cross that. If you take a 20 something asian stateside for the first time to live permanently. She will be overwhelmed by it all and want to explore the 'new world' and do as Americans do, while all you want is a laid back easy going life. Years after ( after she gets her green card and 20 of her extended families stateside) she goes sayonara baby and find the 'real man' of her dreams and that would be a Brat Pitt look-alike.

I am not putting down asians. I am asian. I just want to find out the MYTH about older men hooking up with 20 something asians. I live in Australia, came here the hard way meaning I didn't marry anyone for a visa. I am doing a study about this.

Tried the trampoline... I bounce too much... LOL..

I agree with what you said about bringing a 20 something to stateside. I think that there exotic look plus their innocents to our world is what these guys are finding attractive. Plus the stereotype of subservience.

I did have a friend that had brought his Vietnamese wife back from Vietnam. She was totally subservient to him. I didn't like it. It was more a Master/Slave type relationship... Would rather have a woman that can stand on her on two feet and tell me what she thinks and be with me because she wanted too... not because she felt like she had too or felt obligated to me.

Wow.. getting off of soapbox now.. LOL..

I agree with Sanity on this one. It's just a lazy way of saying them. They're not words.

Unless you count them as slang words in which case they're still not words, it's just idiot speak.

I'd say by your own definition "aren't" isn't a word, but in fact, it isn't. It's a contraction of two words combined. Which is a completely different argument. You're right, it is slang. It's truncated or cut up words. But they're still words.

Yes but 'coo will not be found in the dictionary. Wait, it might because stupid people like to make up words.

Oh I'm sure coo is in the dictionary, but certainly not as the definition of "Cool".
