So I'm curious about how's online dating working out for women. I've been on sites on and off for a few years and want to share my observations and maybe get a few honest answers and hopefully enlighten a few.
It's common knowledge that women get ton's more responses than men. If your not getting any just put a cleavage shot in and off you go.
Now if it's just an ego boost your looking for then that may work. You can also become a chat or cam girl and quadruple or more your messages. What it must be like for an average girl to go online and all the sudden become a star? Then suddenly every swinging D___ and nuttball with a keyboard, young and old are your forever fans. Doubtful it keeps you warm at night...
I really understand that we all need an ego boost once in awhile but I see the same people on here month after month and some year after year. At what point do you get out in real life and pursue what you really want? True companionship and Love.
At what point do these so called fans take you out on a real date? Hmmmmm, not many of those huh? Flame me if you want, don't really care I do well myself but realize this site is one of the lamest out there. It's just kind of sad as there is so much potential for this and most either just don't get it or get caught up in the hype.
My advice, get real for one! For the women, not meeting anyone that either takes you out to get to know you or just fills your online ego. Try making first contact yourself with some profiles you may find interesting.
For all women that think most guys want to be the one pursuing, I'm sure there's other threads about it but from what I have read 90% of guys would love to have a women make the first move.

You have some valid points I must say, but I disagree with some of the points that you've mentioned.

I concur that women, in general, receive more attention than men due to the pre-conceived notion that men are more of the aggressive species and want to battle it out with others to gain a woman's attention. And are right in the sense that probably these so called "fans' will never actually meet you in person, just a mirage of one's perception of hopefulness. And you can make the case in that people should go out in real life and meet someone, but there are cases where people have met and got married with online dating sites, so that theory is not quite 100% true.

But that's all I can agree with you.

Men are just as faulty of having an ego boost having blatantly admitted that THEY ALREADY HAVE A GIRLFRIEND yet still be within the site, as I've read from threads back 7 or 8 months back. Claiming that they can get any "chick" online and then flaunting when the woman doesn't pay any attention to them then they don't send back their messages or make comments within their profile. So the idea of the women only having an "online ego" isn't exactly true.

Also, it's really your opinion on how "lame" this site is, just like I can't say it's the best site I've been on. It depends on how you interact with other posters and people within this website to make it enjoyable and worthwhile. Even though I've probably been here a week, the brutal honesty by posters (Sharky comes to mind) here makes this site a more pleasant read and much more candid discussion about matters than other dating sites I've witnessed upon when there was a lot of sugarcoating and atrocious conversations carrying on.

MetsandJets I appreciate your comments, always nice to have an intelligent response. Fact is though, you haven't been a member very long so hard to base your opinion on what little you have witnessed. I'm also a little confused about you liking dumbass attacks on someone's posts. Intelligent rebuttal is fine with me.
It's always a good idea not to put all your eggs in once basket hence a membership on more than one site. A good forum always helps and this one didn't use to be too bad a few years ago. Now very few posts or threads other than thick browed attacks.
I base my opinions on seeing the same faces in chat rooms every I visit and when checking profiles they are single and looking.
For the venom spewing, well I guess the truth hurts and must be worse when the cam thing didn't bring you any fans. I even find it hard to believe I'm responding to someone that doesn't even have the gutts to put a picture in your profile. I know pics make you look fatter and I'm sure in your case way too many pixels!
I have to laugh when thinking of anyone that may hook up with you. I'll say a prayer now for them.
P.S. I tried to keep any long words out of my post so you might better understand. If you don't I suggest you just keep spitting your negativity all over the forum and your screen. Even you, give rednecks a bad name.

Like I stated in my original post, I haven't been in this site for very long. Actually, it's not only on this site that I've witnessed this sort of behavior regarding men and their big shot attitudes towards women. Other forums I've been upon, I've experienced just the same. In the original post I gave an example of how that applies here, but around my other forums I've been upon, I encountered the same type of behavior.

I concur with some of their sayings and try to add my perspective to them. If I feel I disagree, then I will say I'll disagree. Just because you don't like what they are saying doesn't make their post any less important than mine. I simply put my input in the situation to possibly give it more balance and objectivity in the matter, having nothing to do with liking "dumbass" comments.

Um dude, I have pictures of myself and not afraid to show myself. I'm in very good shape and take care of myself, being very muscular and all. I choose to have my profile on discreet because of all the spamming I receive, nothing more. And what does guts have to do with showing how you look? Not attacking, just asking.
