Ok. So. Haven't ever done this before, but I'm really confused...
I have this guy that I really really like and I was probably about 60-80% convinced he liked me back... (we haven't known each other for that long but it SEEMED, to me, like there was something there). Anyway, he works as a bartender, and last Saturday when he finished work, he, 2 mutual friends, me and this slut who has slept with half the people who go to the bar went to a mates place. When we got there, the slut says to me 'he's hot ae?' and I agreed... I went to the loo, and she's suddenly cuddled up against him when I come back. I left fairly quickly after that, since our sober driver had arrived, and then the slut and the guy I like ended up going home together.

So, my question is, why does this guy choose a slut over a girl who is at uni and has a bright looking future (as opposed to working at McDonalds)? Is it the age? Or do I assume he's just a jerk or what?

Let me know what you think; I do have a nasty tendency to overreact and it's entirely possible he doesn't even like me and i'm totally wrong!

If he was toasted, as in drunk as hell, he would probably choose the easy route. (With regrets later.) I have witnessed this occurrence way too many times.

This does not mean he does not like you. It could mean he's immature though. (The times I saw this happening was ten years ago, I am 32) I don't know anyone my age, that if they liked you, would not simply tell you.

Eh, sleeping with a random girl doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like you. Especially if he was drunk. That said, you don't really know if he does. Guys nowadays are not as forward as in the past. They often don't want to make the first move. Try straight up asking him out, see what happens.

I think everyone who has posted a reply has had something constructive to ad. I can just see it happening! Simply if you are in the company of people who you do not agree with, change company. There are slugs and princes all over the place, but generally slugs hang out where other slug hang out. Same with slugettes. I have to refer to the old saying "Birds of a feather flock together". Still in our youths we've all made some really bad choices. Nonetheless, If you try to get his attention after what happened, he would play you for a tramp because in his mind, you know who your dealing with.

You however seem to fancy yourself as a family oriented four door sedan with great gas mileage and good reliability.
