Why are most guys scared to reach into a woman's purse? My son needed a lighter to start a fire and I told him "There's one in my purse." He passes my purse to go look elsewhere....My dad needed some money once and I said "Get a twenty out of my wallet." He brings me my purse. I have nothing against a guy not wanting to reach into a purse,I just thought it would be a question that has not been asked.

Muscularity/Manly factor perhaps. Some men feel that if you go or even attempt to get such a feminine item, their manliness credibility is gone down drastically and will be thought of as an "girly" man. Quite frankly, I'm kind of the same way as well, but recently I don't mind doing such actions if it has to do with my grandmother needing am item which she is unable to get.

No offence but that's retarded. Reaching into a purse is just like reaching into a box. However, it might be a respect thing. Even though you told them to go in your purse, they may feel they're invading your space.

None taken. It is a respect thing, or at least that's how I was conditioned. Like you've said, it has to deal with a sense of respect for their privacy, so I don't do it unless I have to. EDIT: Now looking at the situation with a bit more thought, I can see how it can come off as stupid, however. I guess it my somewhat pride as a man on the line if I ever decide to do such an action. Kind of silly and comical, yes, but pride nonetheless.

LMAO... I remember when I was a teen,a commercial would come on about pads or tampons right when there were guys around.That was embarassing! And going to buy them was even worse! Glad I grew out of that,lol.
