Trying to keep this story short and sweet.
Boy messags girl online they chat at least once a day for a few days.
Boy asks girl out plans the entire date arrives on time
Date seems to go well, few awkward moments but that's to be expected.
Boy texts girl saying had a great time and hope he made a good impression. Girl answers with an I had a great time too. Boy texts back 2 mins later, girl responds. Boy doesnt respond, but it was late.
Now its 24 hours later and girl hasnt heard from boy.
I cant ever remember a guy making that much of an effort to contact me which made me think he was into me. However going 24 hours with no contact is telling me he's not into me, especially because we have sent at least one message back and forth each day over the past week. I've been known to hide my excitement about a date in the past. So I think I showed genuine interest but I suppose it's possible I didn't put enough vibes out there. So my question is, do you think he's waiting for me to initiate contact even though my last message was the one that went unanswered or was the text after the date just the polite thing to do regardless of whether or not you have a good time? Ha that would mean this is the first polite guy I've ever met.

Typically I would not even be wondering, I wait for him to call and if he does we go from there. But its that text the same night that really threw me. I took that as a good sign, and was sort of wondering if he was waiting for me. I had a good time and didnt want to screw it up. I have been off the market for many years and I'm just now getting out there. So these little things puzzle me. I sent him a message online today saying thanks again. So balls in his court now anyway.

WIth texting and the internet, communication can happen so quickly that it's hard to remember to be patient. I find myself being impatient alllll the time. But just keep reminding yourself to relax. Keep yourself busy with your day. I would say if he doesn't respond after a day or two, give him a call and ask how he's doing, or tell him a funny thing that happened to you. It's a great icebreaker, and also a great way to keep the conversation short if you need to. You can avoid awkward lulls just by saying "Ohh well I just wanted to tell you that funny story, I'll catch you later!" Something along those lines. If he doesn't try to contact you after that, then eh, move on to the next one. No need to stress over someone you barely knew, right?
