Hey WebDaters... This is your friendly ranting collie, Blayze. I was looking around the forums and noticed there wasn't any place to post a rant (or I overlooked it due to not looking very carefully) so I decided to start a thread specially for that! Got something to bitch about? Post it here! Mad at someone? Tell them how you feel here! I'll start one, because there's something that's been bugging me lately anyway...

I am not a spiritual person. At all.

I love science. If you can't at least begin to explain something with science, then it's opinion, perception or bullshit... or all three. Even things science can't explain yet are still scientifically explainable... we just don't know how to yet. If the entire world believes something is truth and it's discovered to be untrue 100 years later, then it was never true, even when people believed it. What people "feel" is irrelevant. Deja Vu is not a premonition or a memory of the exact event from another dimension, no matter how much you "feel" it is. It's a glitch in your brain, telling you that you've been here before when you really haven't. A soul? No. Just a collection of memories that "feels" like it amounts to something more.

Everyone can directly experience the things that are explained by science. Things that can only be explained by belief... only one person can percieve. Jill believes that she's an alien visitor. No one else can touch, smell, taste, hear, or see this. Only Jill. This is a belief. Joe can hit Jill upside the head with a bat for being a bloody moron. Joe, Jill and anyone in the world could touch, smell taste, hear or see this. This is science.

This is the way the world works. We are imaginative beings. Parts of our world are imagined and others are not... and a lot of the time, we can't tell the difference. Science is the tool by which we differentiate the two.

Except for one thing.

There is one thing out there that science cannot and will not be able to explain. But at the same time, it's something everyone in the world experiences every day. Science will never be able to even measure the existence of it... yet every living creature is so familiar with it, life simply wouldn't be life without it. For all my reasons not to believe in a God, an afterlife or a soul, this is the single reason I can think of that actually persuades me to believe these things might indeed exist...

That is our individuality.

I'm not you. You're not Bob. Bob isn't Claus. Everyone has a body to live in and memories they experience. But why do YOU have the body and memories you have? Why couldn't it have been someone else? If you died and then a perfect copy of you was cloned... would YOU still be inside you? If so... what if you were cloned and did not die? Would you perceive life from two beings at once?

Everyone experiences the perception of being contained in one body and one mind. This cannot even register on a scientific basis, yet here it is, for all of us, every day. What process decided that my own perception of life would be within the mind that it is, and not a different one... or even none at all? Why, of all the billions on the planet, am I in "possession" of the mind and body that I have? And... the big puzzle... if everyone has a mind and body, but I percieve life through only one of them, could that perception be something *seperate* from mind and body? If it were the same, I would perceive life through all of the minds and bodies at once. Hmmmm...

Does this mean that God is the absence of perception?

That should give you something to think about. And while you do, I'm going to go shovel microwave popcorn into my facehole like a fat kid.

This is Blayze, The Ranting Collie, and that's all I have to say about that.

And I know that so far I'm the only one to post a rant, but there's something else that's been irking me a little. So, I've been looking through different profiles, just checking them out, no special reason. And I've noticed that a lot...and I mean A LOT of people put down in their favorite music section that they listen to everything. Really? Everything? So, you're telling me that you listen to metal, then turn around and listen to rap (ew), then German Polka, and then, you would listen to a monkey scream Beethoven's entire history of symphonies, and finally, after that maddening bit of nonsense was over, you'd listen to Kathy Bates fart into a bullhorn while punching her own rotting abortion in the face... Seriously. How hard is it to just put down what you REALLY listen to?

I really do listen to most kinds of music, but I used the word "most" to avoid that issue you brought up, lol.

You mention that somethings that were thought to be true turned out to be wrong, using science. Yet you say that some things are definitely NOT true. Couldn't it be possible that they are, and just have not been explained by science yet? Jill thinks she's a visitor... maybe she really is and we just don't know it. The soul is something we just think we have... or maybe it's a real thing and we just don't know it yet. You're ignoring your own argument in the same post!

I see your point, but it's not that I'm ignoring my own argument. Of course that's entirely possible... But how do we know that said things are true if they haven't been explained yet? I only meant that as far as we know they're definitely not true... but one does best to keep an open mind.

Well, without evidence, we don't know that they're NOT true. It could go either way! Lol.

I'm closedminded. No evidence, not true.

I like it that way.

Indeed. You, my dear friend, have beaten the ranting collie in a fail battle... You've won the battle, but not the war...but only because I'm currently also occupied with talking to you on the messages and typing out a rant.

I'm starting to get really bored with UFO nuts. For awhile, they were fun to laugh at. At least, in the kind of way you get a cautious chuckle from fanatics who still believe the Earth is flat or wing nuts who get a boner thinking they might see a Bigfoot raping their cat one day.

But now I'm starting to see this bullshit in place of actual science programming. And lately, these whackjobs seem to be more in people's faces than they used to. Therefore, I believe it is time to ring the damn Clue Phone again.

UFO. Unidentified Flying Object. What that means is if it's an object (and most things are), and if it's flying and you cannot identify what that object is... it's a UFO. I see probably half a dozen of them every day. Most of them are birds or beer bottles Jibba throws past my head. If someone blasts a projectile turd from their ass and it flies through the room and hits baby Jesus in the teeth and you go, "Whoa! What the hell was THAT?" ...Congrats. You've just seen a UFO. It certainly doesn't mean the fucking "grays" are going to come out of it and give you an anal probe... and if they do, then you've forgotten to take your pills again.

But what UFO nuts are really trying to uncover is a government conspiracy. Oh, there is a cover-up, I'm sure of that. But all they're going to find under it is themselves. THEY are the cover-up.

Hasn't anyone stopped to consider the idea that the government might WANT people to think they're hiding UFOs, or does that just make too much sense to get their assholes creamy and wet for that anal probe? Roswell, crop circles, Area 51, Project Blue Book. They have about as much to do with aliens as my fucking socks. Oh, I know about all the secret videos and photos and press leaks and ex-military confessions. But what it all amounts to is very simple exchange.

The People: "What have you got hiding in there?"
Government: "Uh... Well, it isn't UFOs! Honest!"
The People: "OMFG, they've got UFOs!"

Congratulations, suckers. It's the oldest trick in the book. If you're gonna fall for that one, then I absolutely, positively don't have a bridge to sell you for cheap... honest!

What is the government doing in those secret hangars and underground bases? Building shit to kill people with. That's all. Fighter planes, spy devices, chemical weapons. And as long as they have these nuts wandering off and chasing lights in the sky, talking about aliens, then they'll never find the truth. Every time someone accidentally catches a glimpse of the newest doomsday weapon, all they have to do is say, "Well, it certainly wasn't a UFO!"... and the people will do their cover-up job for them. Simple as that.

Is there other life in the universe? Of course there is. There HAS to be. As big as the universe is, it'd simply be arrogant and foolish to think Earth is the only planet that has living things. But this alien life isn't hopping around our planet in pimpin' spaceships, carving pretty shapes in wheat fields and mutilating farm animals.

Yes, a mystery is always fun, but don't let it shape your whole universe for you.
