When they sold cigarettes out of vending machines , usually right out front of a store or bar- didn't even have to walk all the way in .

Or when the military used to strike down the telephone systems in a foreign country straight off to confuse and disrupt the enemy, instead of keeping them up in order to spread mayhem via fake Twitter feeds and to flush out social networks? Err.. or maybe when gas was under $1/gallon?

when they didnt have disposable baby diapers like pampers. And to make it worse all they had was ringer washing machines, that u had to feed the clothes thru a roller to squeeze the water out of them, before u hung them out.

They had TV tube testing machines at the local market

When you could buy a magnifier to attach to your TV screen to make it look bigger

When it was safe for kids to play anywhere they wanted to
There were no students bringing guns to school and killing other students
When a brand new car cost $2,500
A new house cost $5,000
Poodle skirts and angora sweaters were the fashion craze

live television shows
when all movie theaters had a double feature and cartoons before the movies
Drive in theaters
Atomic bomb drills at school (duck and cover)

Clamp on roller skates
Beta max
Air was clean and sex was dirty

pay phones were not only everywhere but only cost a dime

the 5 n dime stores....where you could buy a big brown bag of candy for 50 cents...esp if you bought all the candy that only cost 1 penny

When you could have the kids hop in the back of a pick up truck, not worry about being pulled over, and the kids thought of it as a thrill ride:)

ugh i remember those days...step mom made ME wash out the little bro's cloth diaperes.......i HATED that!...that is one thing I dont miss ...so glad for pampers and huggies! hahaha
